As for your questions:
There is no "correct approach" when dealing with AlexToolStudio. Put into the simplest of terms: He is a compulsive liar and a scumbag - something that is very apparent if you pay attention to him for "a while" an then talk to him directly, like I had.
You cannot 'understand' that behavior, but psychology has a term for people like him: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Narcissism
You're not going to 'change him for the better' by drawing attention to his actions and as things stand you cannot protect future victims. His actions were scummy/disgusting - but they _always_ have been. If people just let that kind of behavior slide, that is on them.
As for myself: I blocked him and moved on. It is not on me to police the actions of "one more asshole" - that's what we have a moderation team for.
On the bright side: One day he will _inevitably_ do something that will warrant getting his account deleted over and then it will happen at the speed of light. You just have to wait for that day and _hope_ that the person it happens to knows 'how to report'. :)

As for "Why do I block you, @Anamonator, on certain things and not others?". The following might be hurtful at your age, so please brace yourself. From my perspective your posts are not worth reading. Not one or two, but every post of yours I ever read before the day I blocked you. That's how I even (vaguely) remember your name. I do not 'hate your guts' or anything - I just don't want to read what you write.
I also block Wegra - which whom I _also_ have _no_problems_ otherwise. I'm just not interested in what he has to say. I hate neither of you. I'm just not 'interested'.

The only way I perceive you on NG is when others respond to you - which I usually skip over.
One of the main issues I had with your posts (that I still remember) was that you essentially repeated the same line of questioning at a bunch of different places - to the point that even moderators told you to give it up.

I hope this answers both of your questions, even if I could imagine that neither answer is particularly satisfying for you. Sometimes, there is no solution.

Ah! Also...: You can set your PMs to only be open between you and NG-friends. That way you and your buddies can still communicate privately (but more safely than via email).
