Super Mario Bros 40th Anniversary Collab Deadline

With the original Super Mario Bros game from 1985 hitting its 40th anniversary in 2025, I’ve decided to organize it early so people could join in early and give them some time on their submissions. I grew up playing Mario games when I was little and I enjoyed the original Super Mario Bros as well as Odysey and 64. And hope this collab could bring out how much we love the Super Mario bros franchise by expressing it in art and animation.

(Also this is my first time organizing a collab so if my words seen vague I’m so sorry)

Rules:

You can do animations and art (Obviously)

If you do submissions on YouTube, please email me at ultragameraustin@gmail.com and I will put them in the mash up when I upload it to Newgrounds.

Fan Fiction characters are ok.

You can even have your OC’s dressed up a Mario or Mario related characters.

Please don’t do any animations or art that is NSFW (Meaning Sexually Suggestive Themes) and over an M rating on Newgrounds. I understand that this is Newgrounds and it’s meant to be the Wild West, but this is Nintendo we’re talking here.

I'll be participating! I've got a question, though, how far can we stray from the Mario franchise and have it still count as a collab piece? Do Mario collab games count (+ rabbids, + sonic at the olympic games, etc.)? Does Super Smash Bros. count, as long as Mario is the main focus of the drawing? Do the WarioWare / Yoshi's ____ World series count, even if they usually don't have Mario in it?
Also, since both art and animation are allowed in the collab, will the art entries be included in the youtube upload, or will it be posted somewhere else?

WarioWare and Yoshi series dosent count because they don’t have Mario as a playable character. Although the WarioWare micro games contain Mario in there it’s still I will make an exception for that. Mario + Rabbids, Smash Bros, and Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games is allowed as long as Mario is the main focus. But the yoshi games are not allowed unless it’s Yoshi’s Island 1995 or the 2014 remake on 3ds.
